It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year: School Supply Season!
Most people in the United States refer to Christmas as the most wonderful time of the year. What’s not to love – eggnog, candy canes, presents? It makes perfect sense that people light up when ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas marathon begins.
I, however, refer to September as the most wonderful time of the year. I know many of you are probably thinking, “How can anyone love September? It marks the end of summer and the beginning of school.”
Ok. True. September is probably the worst month of the year for the majority of American students who have just enjoyed a warm summer vacation free of tests, teachers, and bad grades. I, however, am not a “normal American student.” For me, September marks the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year – school supply shopping season.
Seriously, there is nothing I love more than skipping (actually, I hate skipping- it’s more strenuous than running) down the aisles of Staples throwing pens, pencils, binders, notebooks, paper clips, calendars, and a fresh pack of computer ink into my cart. While most people need a new dress or a fancy pair of boots to cheer them up after a bad day, I prefer to purchase a fresh planner or a desk organizing kit. I guess you could call me the queen of school supplies.
So, what’s on my list this season:
1) Stabilo point 88 ColorParade pens
2) BIC Mark it permanent markers
3) Avery file folder labels
4) Post it divider tabs
5) Sharpie highlighters
Obviously, you will need to purchase the basics – notebooks, paper, binder – but these are must-have supplies and, therefore, are not necessary to list!

Oh man, I thought I was the only one who loves this time of year for that very reason! Me? I can’t live without Post-its. And those excessively fat, multi-colored ink click pens. You know. The ones with like 20 different colors that always run out far too soon.
Flashback to the 90′s. Remember Trapper Keepers? I got one of those an it does in fact trap and keep. It’s awesome.
Hell, maybe I’ll stock up on some other supplies tomorrow.
