2SR: Kill Bill Vol. 1
As someone who’s never given a shit about kung fu movies, I can’t claim to recognize any of the specific references Tarantino put in Kill Bill Volume 1 but I know enough to know after watching it that whatever he sampled from his repertoire of kung fu movies were most likely not nearly as entertaining as this love letter to kung fu cinema. I guarantee none of the various inspirations for Kill Bill Volume 1 would make me so eager to buy a samurai sword and attack other random theater goers.
