2 Sentence Review: Inception

I don’t know if you know this, but there hasn’t been a successful big screen original science fiction film since The Matrix was released in 1999. “What?” you say, “That can’t be possible;” oh, but it is my friends, I dare you to prove me wrong; but you must note that I said ‘original,’ for there have been many successful science fiction films based on novels, comic books, and as remakes of older movies; but originals, written just for the screen, by a screenwriter, there has not been; so rack your brains, get on the Internets, call your friends you may, but prove me wrong you won’t; perhaps it’s all just a dream, there must be more than just Christopher Nolan out there who is capable of hiring the best actors and writing the best scripts and directing the best movies, there must be, there has to be, it can’t be real, it’s all just a dream, why can’t I wake up, wake up, WAKE UP; the funny thing about dreams is that it’s only when we wake up that we realize something was actually strange.

That would require me to consider Avatar an original film and not Pocohontas: Redux, or a piece of racist shit.

I was going to say District 9 (not that I’ve seen but from what I’ve heard).

It’s an adaptation of an earlier, shorter movie but(!) it’s by the same creative team.

    thanks, wiki!

    Count?

    Nope, still an adaptation.
