Hey JMITs, know what the season is called between January and March? Guilty Pleasure Time!
Wait, before you start bringing up swimsuit season or how hot you have to look for the upcoming sloshfest (a.k.a. Spring Break ’09) hear me out…
Sure, guilty pleasures for some may include gorging down a pint of Black Raspberry Chip ice cream in one sitting.
And, I don’t blame those people who do.
[Honestly, pint is such an itty-bitty word. It's not my fault that such a snack-sized container holds 640 calories!]
But, there are other guilty pleasures. Let me tell you a few of mine.
1. Bad Girls Club: If a show is on an Oprah-endorsed channel…you know it screams “guilty pleasure.” Season 3 is on right now (readers, if you’re interested and have on-demand, you can catch all the episodes from Season 3 on there!). Here is what you can find on the show’s homepage:

And, you can meet everyone of them, including my personal favorite, Amber M. (Part of the Amber Show with Amber B., proof that Pittsburgh ain’t all it’s cracked up to be.) You can also meet the “bad girl” who should be labeled ANNOYING girl – Ailea (boo! cry me a river!!).
2. American Idol (Season 8): I mean, seriously, if you’re not watching by now…what else are you talking about on Wednesdays and Thursdays?
3. Lost: Well, to be specific, Lostpedia is our guilty pleasure. Lost is a M-U-S-T. Now don’t spoil anything but just tell me…are all the people on the island related – just tell me that?
Well, children, I have to go watch last night’s Gossip Girl. Toodles! But I’ll leave you with this little sneak peak from Bad Girls Club Season 2.

I have to say that Gossip Girl is definition guilty pleasure. Sure, it seems like a dumb tween show – but it’s seriously addicting. My friend convinced me to watch the pilot episode and then 4 hours later I was done with disc one. I highly recommend watching it – if not for the gossip then for Penn Badgely. The people on that show are just too pretty (boys and girls) to ignore. And, can’t forget that Kristen Bell (see: Brilliant but cancelled “Veronica Mars” star) is the one and only gossip queen. Tune in next week or shop on Amazon.com (of course by clicking on the nonpretentious Amazon link). I promise you will not be disappointed….unless you are a pretentious fool who thinks that tweenage programing is “so dumb” and “immature.” But hey, none of you would think that because we are NONpretentious.
