Khaled: All Hail the King of Algerian Raï
Khaled is truly “the King of Algerian Raï.” But why hadn’t anyone told me about him before the other day. I feel hurt about this. All those concerts for all of these years, and now Khaled is like 50 and I haven’t met him or anything. Better now then never, I guess.

By the way, the idea here is that Khaled’s sister is supposed to be trying to get her father to agree to let her marry a guy who her father doesn’t approve of. And Khaled is supposed to be her brother trying to mediate. But in the end, of course, we see that she sneaks off to be with her man with only her brother’s moral support.
